...Just a few words might be useful here.
..The goal Tap Tone RIB frequency is (227 1/2) HZ horizontally, all over the inside surfaces of the blocks (both corner end end) and exterior rib surfaces, over those same blocks and even from top to bottom at each point.
{..I believe you will find that the vertical tap from the top and bottom of each block is also (227 1/2 HZ) when the side tap is the same.}
..This tap is applied to the blocks horizontally from the side (either inside or outside and 90 degrees to the surface. Compare to the wood reference tap tone scale tool. Adjust the areas that are above (227 1/2 HZ) by sanding or scraping the surface, or insides of the block stock, in the region that is too low until it becomes the (227 1/2 HZ) goal frequency.
..To deal with areas that are too high in horizontal Tap Tone; remove a small amount of material from the inner, top and bottom ends of the wood blocks; tapering toward the top and bottom edges, as needed, to drop the Tap Tone down to the desired (229 1/2 HZ).
 ..See this illustrated in the drawing below: Click on the Tap Tone box below to hear the tap tone reference....
..Cross Section drawing of the violin ribs glue liner strips, and Blocks (both corner and end)....
..To LOWER rib/Block side tap.. lightly sand here evenly atboth ends like this:

..Instructional video by clicking here. Begin video at 00:12:45 for rib featured material... Please also listen for universal tap tuning tool signal, on same video.
..Note: Change the tap tone wanted to: (227 1/2 HZ); but same principle. Any tap tone frequency on the tap tone scale: {162, 176, 188, 198, 213, (227 1/2), 242, 254, 287 HZ }, will do well, but after additional extensive testing: (227 1/2 HZ) is best choice!

..We want an even Tap Tone of (227 1/2 HZ) side tap tone from both sides, horizontally.
..Glue Liner strips cut into the blocks.
..Quarter sawn Spruce wood blocks (from scrap top plate wood)
Change shape like this, to INCREASE the side tap tone up to ( 227 1/2 HZ)..Dish out in this fashion
