 In these two photos, I am adjusting the arching curves. Again, low angle light easily shows up problem areas.
..This plate design is used on my Opus # 27, 28, and 29 violins. It is part of the design that bounces sound out of the ff holes from the inside of the violin.
Pictured above is another scrapper shape, used for contouring violin plates. Use this type held on a diagonal rather than directly across the plate.(Pictured above is Opus # 16 back plate).
 In these two photos, I am using a detail sander with a small sanding pad to smooth the corner transitions and areas around the purfling channel.
  This back plate is now in its finished shape (on the outside of the plate; inside is not hollowed out [graduated] yet.).
  Next, we begin to hollow the inside of the plates.Mark line around perimeter on inside surface 9/64" in from outside edge + shape of blocks for next steps...
