This modified Vigdorchik plate tuning technique will give accurate plate final tuning for better sound production in finished instrument.
..Technique summary for adjustment of each strip up or down to goal frequency:

To raise the tone of the entire strip, a slight amount of wood is removed from the center bout end of the strip; conversly, to lower the tone of the entire strip, a slight amount of wood is removed from the end of the strip opposite the center bout end. The tone is tuned for each entire strip. Just remove material from the outer 3/4" of the strip to change the tap tone of the entire strip.
Next the back plate is processed in just the same way as the top plate was.
Here I am using a wood gouge driven by a wood mallet to remove some areas of wood that are too thick for sanding out, in preparation for the sanding and scraping final steps.
