Here I am sliding finger tips over the surface inside to discover areas that need smoothed.
Smooth contour changes will help the tone of the finished violin.
The next task is to Tap Tune the entire top plate evenly to 213 HZ for the top plate (242 HZ for the back plate).See other areas for details on how to do this...
..Please note: I no longer leave a thicker pad for the sound post. Just make plate 2.6 mm thick all over the vibrating surface.
In this view, I am marking the Vigdorchik tone strip pattern onto the inside of the top plate in pencil. For final detail plate Tap Tone Tuning to an even 213 HZ.

..Here I drew the lines in pencil, sometimes I just use white black board chalk. You can erase the pencil lines later before assembly of the body.
You may notice that the central strip is laid out wider than the others, in addition the upper bout strips are more narrow than those of the lower bout area. See Vigdorchik plate tuning (in index) for detailed instruction.
