  The makers label is printed and glued in place where it can be viewed through the left 'ff' hole.
  I glue this on with an even coat of bottled hide glue.

  This is the bottom end block (viewed from inside the violin). The end pin will be drilled through after assembly of the body and neck.
  Notice how the plate is left thick on the sides of the end block; this gives increased strength to the body which will help the instrument last for hundreds of years.
  The head block area to which the neck will be fitted after the body is closed.

..I have since discovered that the glued on label changes the plate tuning so I no longer use an actual label; rather I ink the information and place my makers ink stamp. A pencil could also be used...
