...Isaak Vidgorchik, in his book:"The Acoustical Systems of violin of Atradivarius and Other Cremona Makers" reveals that violin plates behave in a specific manner as to tuning the plates. This technique is an excellent way for us to fine tune violin plates to specific tap tone frequencies. It works and involves small amounts of wood to be removed.
..I am currently using this method to fine tune the top and back plates after they are properly graduated to an excellent pattern from a famous maker.
...Go to pattern pages, print out pattern to proper size and you will have a tool to accurately position these tone strips for tonal adjustment of your violin plates.

...Use a soft lead pencil to lightly mark strip boundry lines; then remove pattern.
...Here I have cut out some manila folder paper straight edges, marking the factory straight sides with marker pen. Different lengths to fit longer or shorter tone strips.
..Now using the straight edges make boundry lines continuous. Erase lines after adjusting tonal strips to equal tap tones all over each plate.
