Here I have laid a short piece of the glue liner strip material against the end pin block; it is flush with the top surface of the rib. A sharp pencil line is drawn marking outline.
Using an 'exacto' style knife and a new blade, cuts are made on the outline so that the marked out wood can be removed, leaving just enough room for the fitted end of the glue liner strip, which ends in approximately a 45 degree angle at each end; so there will be (24) joints to exactly fit for best acoustical performance..
I find it very useful to wrap a piece of 3/4" masking tape around the base of the new blade to protect my fingers from cuts from the base of the blade. These blades are very sharp! (and need to be, to do this type of work).
..Use several new blades for each side...
The top of the block is also marked out with the pencil and cut with the knife, fine saw and jewelers file for a perfect fit bevel cut joint.
